Hope, Perhaps?

Finally, the auto industry is thinking outside the proverbial box and taking a step away from fuel dependence.

ZERO emissions?? A car that releases water vapor rather than exhaust??
Sounds too good to be true....but here's hoping! Go Honda!

(Gobama, too!)

honda is definitely a trendsetter with low emission vehicles. Although I can't help but be skeptical about these "ZERO" emission type vehicles. Seems to me a bit too good to be true.

For instance, everyone is after this big, sexy solution to the energy problem. People talk about hydrogen like it is this amazing thing...the fallacy is that it takes more energy to create these hydrogen cells then it saves. Totally a waste. Maybe in many years itll be great but as of now it is just a lie. Same goes for ethanol. the use of food (corn and sugar cane) to create fuel is ridiculous for a few reasons. 1) it takes more energy to get the corn and sugar cane into the state that can be used as fuel then it saves. 2) we still live in a world where people don't have enough food to eat. People still die from starvation...and with this latest and disgusting food shortage worldwide...the usage of corn to power our trucks seems a bit immoral. maybe that's just me.

the problem with this stuff is that people want a big answer...a big answer that doesnt take lots of work and that makes the politician who got it passed look like a hero. BUT, in reality, if there was a government mandate to require all americans to insulate their pipes in the winter or some other simple and small energy saving strategy, we'd save more energy than ANY of these big sexy ideas that are being proposed at the moment. the problem is, though, that no one will win a nobel peace prize for tell you to wrap your pipes with 5 bucks of foam...so these cheaper, more grassroots answers to these major major political issues probably wont come about. awesome.
